Good Food, Friends & A Small World

July 3, 2017

[Week of June 26 - July 2]

Monday - So like I said last week today was pretty chill. We kinda just hung out. Played some ping pong with the Hermanas and then we called it a day. Then we went to Angel and Leónor's house. We taught about Redemption through Christ. They are both preparing to go through the temple so it's awesome that they are wanting to meet with us so much and learn as much as they can.

Tuesday - So today the landlord and the tile guy came to fix the mess that was made last week and they were there for the whole morning again. Then for lunch we ate in the Piso. Then we did our studies. Then we had a lesson with our friend José Carlos. He's doing really well. He actually just got a job this week and it looks like he could make a good bit of money. Which would be awesome for him because we are trying to help him get out on a mission. Then after that we went to Carmen's house. She's a really awesome Dominican member here. She made us some really good carbonara pasta. We met her older son there who is an inactive member and we are gonna try and meet with him and talk about life sometime soon.

Wednesday - So this morning we did weekly planning. Then we went over to Amanda and Ilda's house. They fed us some really good food. It's cool because Amanda's nephew, Santiago, just got back from almost a year in Alaska as a foreign exchange student. So, we got to know him and talk with him in English a little bit which was fun. Then we had English class later. Then we went over to Victor's house and he's doing fine. He's just continuing everyday reading and praying. He's got demensia so it's really difficult for him to retain anything that he reads or that we teach him. He's a great guy though.

Thursday - So this morning we had district meeting. For lunch we went to Burger King as a district. It's weird how popular it is here in Spain. I can't think of anyone back home that really loves BK like the people do here.

Well, after that I did an intercambio with Elder Dargan. He's from Orlando, Florida. He's a cool kid, he's been our about a year and it was a good day. We visited Raquel. She's doing okay. It's been a rough week or two for her but she's still reading and praying. Then we went to a Lady named Esperanza's house. She's less active and a returned missionary. The lesson was good and she was a really nice lady.

MTC MILKSHAKE

Friday - So this morning we switched back to our normal companions. Elder Schwanke and I got back to our area at like 2:30 so we went and got lunch at a place called Tommy Mel's. It's like a 50's American restaurant. It was pretty delicious. We also saw one of our MTC teachers there and he bought as both a milkshake. What a small world. He happened to be here for work and eating there at the same time we passed by. Haha!

Then we did our studies. Then we were out trying to find some people and we passed by a bunch of guys playing some basketball. So we asked if we could join. And so we spent about a hour getting to know these guys and playing some ball with them in our church clothes. It was pretty fun! Needless to say, our team won. Spanish people are still working on the whole basketball thing. Haha!

Saturday - So this morning we had English class. Then we played fútbol. Then we ate lunch with Ingrid. She's from Peru. She made us Ceviche. It was pretty great. Then we went and did studies. Then we had a lesson with Juan José, who is still awesome and progressing towards his baptism on the 15th. He actually invited the members in the Gospel Principles class to come. He's so awesome. After that we made invitations for the upcoming branch activity. We are gonna have a talent show on the 21st. It's gonna be dope.

Sunday - So today church was good. Raquel and Juan José came. They both stayed all three hours. Then we ate lunch with Sonia. She made some amazing Brazilian food. Then we did studies. My companion was kinda sick today so he took a little nap as well. Then we went to our pancakes activity. Then we met with the leaders of the JAS. We are gonna have an activity on my birthday to celebrate. So, I'm excited for that.

Monday - Today we are gonna go out to eat with some members and my companion wants to go suit shopping because rebajas (sales) just started. So that will probably be our day today.

Love you all,

Elder Harris
