Dear Mom and Dad and Sam:
Weekly letter July 25-31
Monday - So today was a
relatively normal day because we didn't have P-day. We taught some lessons and
basically contacted like the whole day. Overall it was a good day. We also had
district meeting today because of the change in schedule this week. It was good, I really like our district.
Tuesday - So today as
well was a pretty basic day. Lots of contacting. We had one really good lesson
with a menos activo named Ricardo. He left the church due to some things that
happened with the leadership of the branch and a couple other things. In that
time away he basically has found who he wants to marry and they had a kid. He
wants to come back so that his family can have the gospel. We also started
practice for the talent show that our branch is having on Saturday.
Wednesday - Today we
went to the temple. It was awesome as always! Afterwards we played basketball
tournament style. My district won the tourney and it was a really fun day.
After that we taught English class and then we practiced again for the talent
show.
Thursday - Today we did
weekly planning and it was good. We had two lessons in the afternoon. After
those we had correlation and then we ate with the branch mission leader.
Thursday's are always pretty calm days.
Friday - We met with
Paolo this morning. We taught the word of wisdom. He agreed to live up to it.
We have to move his baptism back to the 14th because he has to go to Portugal.
He is super awesome and prepared for the gospel. We ate with a member (Juan
Carlos) for medio dia and he made steak and potatoes and guacamole it was THE
BOMB! Then we had our final practice for the talent show.
Saturday - We played
futbol this morning and it was fun. It's cool we can use it as a finding
activity now. After futbol we are with a recent convert (Armando). The food was
good and then we started to get ready for the talent show. We did 2 acts. One
song with the 4 missionaries in our branch and a sketch with like 10 people
total. Hopefully the videos will work! Haha
Sunday - Today we had
church. Because it was the 5th Sunday, we had a combined third hour and we
talked about being self sufficient and it was interesting because it's
completely different from what we teach self sufficiency wise in the states.
Our branch is growing and after we acted in the talent show we handed out our
list to be fed and we have like 15 meals planned for this month already. It's
awesome.
COOLEST STUDIES EVER!
Monday - So today for studies we went to this cool place next to a river and it was really pretty.
For P-day we are gonna be doing some cleaning and then we are traveling to the pueblo next to us to play volleyball with the missionaries there. My companion was an avid volleyball player back home so he's very excited.
Love,
Elder Harris
