Intercambios and Stake Conference

November 7, 2016

Dear Mom, Dad and Sam:

[Week of Nov. 1-7]

Monday - So, today for p-day we cleaned the piso. Then we hung out in Alcorcon and went to a place called Alcampo. It's the Walmart of Spain. We ate Burger King for lunch today and it was pretty good. The rest of the day we just chilled until we had a noche de hogar at Edison's house. It was really fun and the Hermanas made chicken noodle soup for everybody. It was pretty good.

Tuesday - This morning we did some contacting. And had a eating appointment with a member named Francisco and his family. They are from Lima, Peru. But, have mainly lived in Trujillo most of their lives. I told them a story about when dad was in Cuzco and it was freezing cold. He, as well, lived in Cuzco and worked in the mines there. He said it was so freezing and that he shivered himself to sleep every night. Haha! This afternoon we went to Mostoles to do intercambios with Elder Eklund and Elder Weiss, the zone leaders. It was a pretty good day we contacted quite a bit because our lessons failed us but we had a good time and I learned a lot. I went with Elder Eklund from Canada and he was funny and I just made fun of his accent the whole time.

Wednesday - Well this morning we continued to be on intercambios until about 12. Then we had district meeting at 12:30. The zone leaders joined us. It was a good meeting. Tonight we had English class and also music class after. In the music class one of the students asked if we were allowed to do like a dance class and so we did a class of line dances. Haha! It was pretty fun!
"Irn Bru" -- a soda one of our English students brings to class -- it's good!

Me & Elder Lopez at English Class

Thursday - This morning we did weekly planning. Then we ate at a place called The Good Burger for lunch. It was pretty good. Tonight we had correlation. We ate spaghetti for dinner and it was a good day.

Friday - Well the first thing we did today was during medio día we went to the store and bought some food. We've been getting fed so much that we haven't really needed to buy food. Then we had English class tonight. It was good, afterwards, Armando came to the church and offered to take us out to dinner. We went to a restaurant and got two full, baked chickens and a ton of French fries. It was really good. I love Armando. He's made being in Alcorcon a lot more worth it. He's been a guy that we've been able to help a lot.

Hangin' with Asael -- cutest kid ever!

Saturday - Well, this morning we played futbol. It rained all last night and so the field was a little wet. Fortunately for us we still had 15 guys show up. We played for about and hour and a half and then it just started to pour on us. Haha! It was fun running home in the rain. Then we ate medio día with Omar and Rosa. They made some amazing soup and steaks. Like real steaks. That's the first time I've had that I think. Then tonight we had our first meeting with a new investigator named Jose, he's from Peru. He's super great and we are really excited to be meeting with him.

Sunday - Today we had Stake conference in Pavones. It was a really powerful meeting. We had a visiting 70, his name was like David G. Homer, or something like that. He gave a really good talk about the things that are truly important in our lives. For medio día we got Paella from Carmen and it was super good. Then we had a lesson with ANOTHER new investigator named Miguel. He's from Spain and he speaks English. He actually self referenced himself on LDS.org. He's super interested in our church and already wants to be baptized so we are also very excited to be teaching him.

Monday - Well, today we are having another laid back p-day. Just kind of hanging out and my companion needs to do some shopping.
