Dear Mom and Dad,
Well, this week was amazing! As I said in the last email we had a meeting with Elder Craig A. Christensen and Elder Dykes this Thursday. I sang in the choir and we sang the song "Come Unto Him." It's a really beautiful hymn. Elder Christensen is actually the man who translated the words to the Spanish version that we sang. The performance was amazing. It really felt like we had angels there with us. Elder Christensen said "that hymn is intended to be sung like that every time, I'm so proud of this missionary choir of 40 or so people. You all have truly set the Spirit in the right mood for this meeting." The meeting was actually amazing. We spoke of our purpose, but also about our identity as children of our Heavenly Father. The Spirit was really strong for me and I had a really good time.
This week has been tough for me,
being a district leader is tough! Training also is pretty stinking tough too.
I've never been so tired in my life. Elder Miller and I get along really well.
He speaks about 0 Spanish haha, so I have to translate everything for him but we are
enjoying it. His Dad's name is David Miller. He has 2 brothers with Asperger’s.
He's a really humble guy and I know he is going to help me a lot. I've
already learned so much from him, and we plan on really hitting the work this
week. He's still adjusting to the language and also he's had some pretty bad
jet lag but all in all he's doing pretty well. ![]() |

| Elders Harris and Farmer -- Mom LOVES THE BACKGROUND on this one! |
1. We have an amigo named Francisco who has been investigating the church for almost 40 years of his life. His entire family is members (In fact when the church was first allowed in Spain they were in the first 20 converts) and he has always had a good opinion of the church. But, he has just never wanted anything serious of the church. About 9 months ago he had a stroke and when you have this type of stroke like 99% of people die. He however did not, and he believes it for the reason that God has a plan for him. He knows that he has a purpose now, and he wants to be baptized. We don't have a for sure date, but we are pretty sure it will be the 5 of December. He is a really great guy.
2. The sisters that are serving here have an investigator named
Nelida. She is from Cuba. She has been investigating for about 2 weeks now. She
had never heard of our religion before, until she came here to Spain about 7
months ago. In her first lesson she received the Book of Mormon. She has read
almost the entire thing already. The amazing thing is that she already has a
testimony of the truthfulness of it. Her first night with the book she had a
dream of her friend coming to her and saying, "Nelida this book is the
most true book in the world, also these people are only here to help you (the
missionaries), listen to them, don't forget the plan God has for you." She
had never had an experience like that before. She already knows the church is
true and she is also on date for the 5 of December. She was so prepared to hear
the message of the restoration. She now wants to go to Cuba and be one of the
pioneer missionaries there. I actually have had the opportunity to teach her
twice and she is so ready for the gospel, in the restoration pamphlet that we
give to people, she has filled out all of the questions in the back. I have
never seen something like that before. The Lord works in mysterious ways and as
missionaries we get to be a part of that.
