December in Spain

December 14, 2015

Dear Mom and Dad and Sam,

Well this week has been an interesting one. First off, we got to see some pretty cool success this week.

GOLDEN
Elder Miller and I were helping Hestrobel to move a new couch into his piso. That process took like an hour and a half and it was pretty miserable because the couch was one with a mattress on the inside so it weighed a ton. Anyway we were helping him to move it in and his nephew was helping us too. He's probably like 25 and he lives in the same piso. Well after the whole ordeal he said to us, "hey why haven't you guys ever wanted to teach me a lesson or anything?" We had always just figured he wasn't interested. So we have our first lesson with him this week.

Also we taught a lesson to Francisco this week, he is so ready to get baptized. He is waiting for when his sister can come up from Malaga so that she can see it. He is a really great guy. Our lesson was cool, it was pretty much just a Q&A about all the things the church teaches. It was really cool, it was a good way for us to see his desires. Well, we officially have a date! January 9th and we are super pumped!

BLEAH...
Elder Farmer was really sick this week. This weekend especially he didn't even leave the piso. We think it must have been food poisoning of some sort. He's the only one who got sick.

I'm learning so much from Elder Miller right now. He's a great young missionary.

ORGANIZATION
Missionary Board from the Mission Office

Well I did not have to time to finish the Book of Mormon this week but I will hopefully get it done this next week. I love the Book of Mormon so much! I didn't used to, but now I really do enjoy reading it.

This week we met with the Bishop. He is such a great guy. He's only been a member for 18 months and he's already a bishop. It really does show how the Lord works his ways. He had a really awesome dream that he shared with us and I felt the Spirit really strong. He's a strong member already he's still just learning the ropes of how everything works. We had a really good talk with him. We are gonna get put to work in the next couple weeks here in the ward. The missionaries before us hadn't been very good at building relationships so that's what we are going to do to make sure the missionaries after us have it easier.

DISTRICT MEETING

This week for district meeting we studied three Christ-like attributes. I see it fit seeing as how we are getting so close to Christmas we might as well focus on Christ some more. The attributes were Diligence, Obedience and Patience. It was a good meeting. Our district is really young and we are still learning a lot but I love working with all of the people in it. It's really cool to see how God is helping the missionaries within our district and helping also the people that we serve.

Today for Pday we are going to Primark and doing a little bit of Christmas shopping, then we are going to play soccer, it will be a calm day.

Love,
Elder Grayson Harris
